About the Author

I am a co-founder at WellcomeMat, and am therefore one of the nut jobs that decided that this was an idea worth risking everything for. The fact that you are reading this proves that to a large/lessor extent, I was right. I graduated with an English Lit degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1999, and moved back East to work in video production for Sony Electronics. As part of Sony's "Marcom" division, I helped launch new products to the public via tradeshows and sponsored events (one of which was the TED Show in Monterrey). In October of 2002, I moved back to Boulder and I've been eye deep in tech startups since. I love WellcomeMat, and hope you do too. You can contact Christian via email here or online here.

WellcomeMat Partners with Turnhere

It is with great pleasure that we announce a partnership with Turnhere. To us, a partnership of this nature has always made sense, and here’s why:

As most people already know, WellcomeMat does not plan to make money on video production. However, after having lead the charge on the match-making between local video producers and clients, what we often realize is that many of our national-level prospects face a steep climb when trying to quickly find local pros in many areas at once. We have very strong coverage in some areas (these production companies know who they are), but not-so-great coverage in others. WellcomeMat is very proud that we have become known as a match-maker amongst other things, but we often get ourselves in a bind when we need solid coverage in hard to cover areas. Turnhere is a one-stop solution when these things come up, and the best part is that we know for a fact that quality will be the end result.

How does this effect our current video production companies?

To a large extent, our partnership with Turnhere helps our current base of video production companies. For one, they are posting gigs to the production board already. Two, they bring a recognized name to our directory, and help to set the bar in the quality arena, making our system more trustworthy. Three, we can stick to our focus of being the technology company, the marketplace, and video management system that we have always been. Our focus in these areas is not a trivial thing for local video pros: the better WellcomeMat is at leveraging our strengths, the more business that we’ll drive to local producers.

Other than the aforementioned benefits, the game on WellcomeMat doesn’t change: video producers are still being positioned based on their level of local activity and the trust that they have gained over the years on WellcomeMat.

Thanks very much to the Turnhere team for putting their trust into WellcomeMat.
